Felon Self-Reports Gun Purchase, Leading to Arrest

A 41-year-old felon, Justin Kimbell, finds himself in legal trouble after allegedly calling 911 to report issues while trying to buy a firearm, violating his probation and committing multiple crimes. Despite his felon status, Kimbell claims a seller refused to return his money upon learning of his record, prompting his call to police.

However, when deputies arrived, they discovered Kimbell driving a vehicle without registration while under the influence. He recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.309%. Further investigations reveal Kimbell had previously held a gun to a victim’s head during an incident in April 2025, leading to serious charges including first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
