‘Justice for J6’ Rally Faces Low Turnout, High Security

The “Justice for J6” rally, held to support those charged for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot, saw disappointing attendance, with only 400 to 450 participants showing up. This figure fell short of the Department of Homeland Security’s estimate of 700, highlighting a significant lack of turnout for the event organized by Matt Braynard, a former Trump campaign staffer.

Alongside the sparse crowd, a vast deployment of law enforcement and media was evident, with over 27 agencies securing the area to prevent potential violence. While there were a few arrests related to weapons violations, no major clashes occurred between rally supporters and counter-protesters nearby, suggesting the security measures were effective. The low attendance may reflect growing concerns within far-right circles about the event being a “setup” by the federal government, as suggested in statements from Trump himself.
