Two men are in custody after leading deputies on a dramatic chase through Polk County while allegedly hunting deer from their vehicle. The incident began when a Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission officer spotted 26-year-old Bryson Peebles and 29-year-old Aleia Douglas using a gun and light to hunt from a silver Ford F-150 along District Line Road near Fort Meade.
The confrontation escalated as the driver evaded multiple attempts by deputies to stop him using stop sticks. Ultimately, their escape ended when the truck became stuck in an orange grove after a series of reckless maneuvers. Both men face serious charges, including hunting from a roadway, as well as additional charges for reckless driving and fleeing from law enforcement.
