Newton County Man Indicted for Firearm Possession

A Diamond, Missouri, man, Jason A. Duncan, is indicted by a federal grand jury for illegally possessing firearms following previous felony convictions. Charged with three counts of being a felon in possession of firearms, Duncan allegedly had a Palmetto State Armory rifle and various pistols from August 2024 to January 2025, despite being prohibited from firearm ownership under federal law.

This indictment replaces an earlier complaint and will face scrutiny by a federal trial jury to determine Duncan’s guilt or innocence. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI, highlighting ongoing efforts to tackle firearm-related offenses among individuals with violent histories.
