Community Unites for Anti-Gun Violence Kickball Tournament

An anti-gun-violence advocacy group, Mothers of Murdered Offspring (MOM-O), hosted a kickball tournament in Charlotte, attracting community members eager to unite for a common cause. The “United We Kick” event took place at Hornets Nest Park and included participation from local businesses, families, and law enforcement, highlighting the collective effort to address the pressing issue of gun violence in the community.

MOM-O emphasizes the importance of building connections among residents and instilling a sense of value in young people’s lives. A representative stated, “If adults show up and get involved, we can make a difference, we can make a change.” This tournament not only brings awareness to the grim statistics of youth violence but also serves as a platform to inspire proactive engagement in the community’s future.
