Police have identified the suspect involved in a shooting incident at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne as 31-year-old Brian Anthony Browning from Romulus. Reports indicate that Browning arrived at the church armed with an AR-15 style rifle and a semi-automatic handgun, initiating gunfire that prompted a swift response from the church’s security team.
During the confrontation, Browning was shot and killed by a security guard, who was also injured and is currently recovering in stable condition. Investigators note that Browning was a brief attendee of the church and may have been experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the incident, prompting an extensive search of his home where authorities uncovered additional firearms and ammunition.
