The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has finalized the migratory bird hunting regulations for the 2025–2026 season, introducing crucial changes for waterfowl hunters to note. Notably, the early teal season is now just 9 days long, down from previous years, due to a decline in teal numbers observed in the 2024 survey, though the bag limit remains unchanged.
In addition to the altered teal season, hunters can look forward to Canada goose hunting from September 6-28, with additional seasons extending from October through January. Special youth and military hunting days are scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, providing unique opportunities for specified groups. To participate, hunters must obtain a state hunting license and additional permits, all of which are available online.
