An armed robbery suspect in Rancho Cordova surrenders peacefully after a tense four-hour standoff with Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies. The standoff, which began around 11 p.m. at a home on Moraine Circle, unfolded after the suspect barricaded himself inside, refusing to exit while armed with a handgun.
Law enforcement, including a SWAT team, quickly surrounded the residence, evacuating nearby homes and urging residents to shelter in place. The standoff escalated when the suspect emerged from the garage while holding his weapon. Fortunately, negotiators were able to resolve the situation peacefully, leading to his arrest without incident and subsequent transport to jail.
