A Yerington man has been charged with robbery following an incident on Wednesday, when he allegedly brandished a rifle and demanded money from a UPS driver at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. Law enforcement quickly apprehended 42-year-old Anthony Carlos after he fled the scene in a vehicle, leading deputies on a brief pursuit that concluded in a nearby parking lot.
Upon his arrest, Carlos was found with a collection of serious charges, including robbery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon, among others. Notably, a firearm was recovered after he discarded it during the chase. With bail set at $172,280, this incident raises community concerns about safety and the prevalence of such armed robberies in the area.
