Little Rock Man Convicted in Fentanyl and Gun Case

A jury in federal court convicts Montrell Austin, a 41-year-old man from Little Rock, of drug trafficking and illegal gun possession. Found guilty of possessing nearly a quarter pound of fentanyl with intent to distribute, Austin’s conviction carries a potential sentence ranging from five to 40 years, compounded by enhanced penalties due to prior drug convictions.

During the investigation, authorities discovered six firearms and drug-manufacturing equipment, as well as $10,000 in cash, linking Austin to a suspected narcotics operation. His co-defendant, Tarik Slater, has already been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, highlighting the ongoing crackdown on drug-related crime in the area.
