A six-year-old girl in Lacy Lakeview, Texas, is recovering after undergoing surgery for a leg injury caused by an air rifle shot fired by 18-year-old Cameron Dotson. The incident occurred on June 25 when the victim was walking home along Stanfield Drive, prompting her immediate medical attention after Dotson, aware of her presence, discharged a .22 caliber air rifle, striking her in the leg.
Police arrested Dotson the following day, finding him in possession of the weapon used in the incident. He faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and remains in custody at the McLennan County Jail with a $10,000 bond.
