The incident occurred at BD’s Furniture in Dorchester, where Simmons-Davis reportedly attempted to leave the store with unpaid items before confronting an employee and displaying the weapon, prompting customers to flee in fear.
During the police response, officers pursued Simmons-Davis, who attempted to escape on an electric scooter. Upon his arrest, investigators found a Taser, cash, and crack cocaine in his possession. With a criminal history involving firearm and assault charges, his case raises concerns about safety for both workers and shoppers. Simmons-Davis is currently held on $1,000 bail and scheduled for a court hearing on July 29.
