Altoona police have arrested 20-year-old Skyler Miller-Dicken after a verbal dispute on an Amtran bus culminated in the discovery of an illegal firearm. The altercation on May 5 involved threats made by Miller-Dicken against another passenger, prompting his removal from the bus. Hours later, the bus driver found a bag belonging to him that contained a 9mm handgun, leading police to investigate his criminal history, which revealed he was prohibited from possessing weapons.
On May 13, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Miller-Dicken on charges of illegal firearms possession and disorderly conduct. He was apprehended this week at a local Sheetz after briefly attempting to flee but was caught with help from a bystander. Miller-Dicken is currently jailed at Blair County Prison, with bail set at $75,000, raising concerns about public safety on public transport.
