Man Arrested with “Ghost Gun” at Capitol Office Building

A Maryland man has been charged with attempting to bring a “ghost gun” into a House office building on Capitol Hill, marking a concerning trend of firearm-related incidents in the area. Jason White, 35, was stopped at a security checkpoint when a metal detector revealed the firearm, which lacked a serial number and was deemed fully operational, according to police reports.

This arrest is part of a troubling statistic, as over 20 individuals have been apprehended for unlawful firearms possession on Capitol Hill in 2025 alone, already surpassing the total of 18 arrests from the previous year. White, who does not have a valid gun permit in Washington, D.C., claims he forgot about the weapon in his bag and now faces felony charges as lawmakers push for enhanced security measures in the wake of rising firearm incidents.
