A Dallas police officer is involved in a shooting that left one person dead early Saturday morning in the downtown area near Deep Ellum. Initial reports indicate that officers were responding to a shooting at approximately 2:30 a.m. in a parking lot when they encountered multiple shooting victims and one person armed with a gun, which led to the officer discharging their weapon.
The Dallas Police Department has not clarified whether the officer’s shot struck anyone or provided details about the deceased and other injured victims taken to local hospitals. Multiple weapons have been recovered from the scene, and the department has notified the Office of Community Police Oversight as the investigation continues.
