During a traffic stop, officers discovered 42 grams of suspected MDMA, over 18 grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded 9 mm pistol hidden in a gold backpack after Hernandez admitted he lacked a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Initially denying ownership of the contents in the backpack, Hernandez later confessed they were his, explaining he resorted to selling drugs due to financial difficulties. His arrest follows a broader crackdown on illegal drug activities in Gainesville, raising concerns about community safety and substance abuse issues in the area.
