Oxford Man Arrested for Illegal Gun Possession

An Oxford man, Sharlo Gilliom, faces felony charges for illegal gun possession following a routine traffic stop on June 27. Police discovered a firearm in the glove box of Gilliom’s vehicle, and upon further investigation, they found that he is a convicted felon with an outstanding arrest warrant.

Gilliom, 43, was taken into custody without incident and is now being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center. The case raises concerns about firearm laws and public safety, prompting further discussion on the implications of illegal gun possession by convicted felons in the community.
