Scranton Man Charged with Gun Possession, Assault

Christopher Strobert, a 30-year-old homeless man, is charged with illegal possession of a firearm and assault after a disturbing domestic incident in Scranton. Police were called to the scene on Donnelly Court where a pregnant woman alleged that Strobert had physically attacked her and stolen her firearm, escalating the situation before fleeing the area.

Officers later discovered that Strobert was prohibited from possessing a gun due to a prior felony conviction. Following a coordinated effort, he returned the weapon to the residence after a friend intervened. Currently held in Lackawanna County Prison on a $50,000 bail, Strobert faces several charges, including simple assault and drug possession, with a preliminary hearing set for July 16.
