Calera police have arrested two juveniles after separate incidents involving handguns at the Waterford Clubhouse last weekend. Concerned citizens reported suspicious behavior, including one juvenile wearing a mask and refusing to comply with officer requests, prompting a police response that uncovered a concealed firearm.
Moreover, another juvenile fled from officers while discarding a handgun near an area populated with children. Chief David Hyche condemned the actions, emphasizing the risks posed to the community and urging parents to be proactive in monitoring their children’s activities. Both suspects have been referred for legal prosecution.
