Oklahoma Records Second-Highest Deer Harvest Ever

Oklahoma announces a remarkable achievement in wildlife management as the state records its second-highest deer harvest in history, surpassing 128,000 deer in the 2024-2025 season. According to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC), this milestone reflects the dedication and efforts of hunters to maintain ecological balance and adhere to responsible hunting practices.

Out of the 77 counties in Oklahoma, 70 successfully met their antlerless harvest goals, set between 40-45%. This success indicates effective wildlife management strategies at play, particularly in regions with higher deer densities. The program’s effectiveness emphasizes the role of regulated hunting in conserving ecosystems, further demonstrating Oklahoma’s commitment to sustainable wildlife practices.
