Silver Lake Man Killed by Police in Shooting Incident

A 65-year-old Silver Lake man, Dale White, was shot and killed by a police officer on Thursday morning in Wabash County as law enforcement attempted to serve a search warrant. The incident unfolded when officers surrounded White’s home and called for him to come outside, during which he allegedly pointed a firearm at them without firing any shots.

In response, an officer discharged their weapon, resulting in White’s death. Following the shooting, the involved officer has been placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure during such investigations conducted by the Indiana State Police. This event has raised questions about police response in similar situations, prompting community discussions about the incident’s circumstances.
