Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, an illegal immigrant, is arrested in New York City after allegedly shooting an off-duty Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer during an attempted robbery. Authorities reveal that Nunez, who was wanted in Massachusetts for armed kidnapping and robbery, ambushed the officer while he was in Fort Washington Park, critically injuring him in the face and arm.

As law enforcement continues to investigate the incident, officials express concerns about the implications of sanctuary city policies, suggesting they may have allowed criminals like Nunez to operate unchecked in major urban areas.
