Austin police have arrested 17-year-old Troy Lee Tanksley in connection with a mass shooting that occurred on March 30 at Lit Lounge, a popular bar on East Sixth Street. The shooting left four individuals wounded, prompting a significant investigation and public concern over safety in the downtown area.
Tanksley was taken into custody on July 14 during an unrelated violent offense and subsequently charged with a first-degree felony for his alleged role in the shooting. He is currently being held at Travis County Jail on a $100,000 bail, raising questions about youth involvement in increasing gun violence incidents.
