A 28-year-old Oroville man, Keith Saephan, faces multiple charges including elder abuse and possessing illegal firearms following a Sheriff’s investigation into criminal threats involving a firearm. Deputies responded to reports of threats made against a resident over several days and, upon contacting Saephan, conducted a protective sweep of his home, discovering two unregistered guns initially.
Subsequent searches, authorized by warrant, revealed four additional firearms, two of which were classified as illegal assault weapons. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding these threats as public safety concerns mount in the community.
