With 136 gun violence incidents reported in South Carolina over the past year alone—resulting in 106 fatalities—the urgency for community engagement is evident. Local activist William “Q Rock” Cureton emphasizes the importance of collective action, stating, “We are all in this together,” as community members are encouraged to bring questions and solutions to the table. Police Captain Rod Stinson highlights the need for stronger community relationships, asserting that “we can’t arrest our way out of any issue.”
