A 30-year-old man identified as Jesse Tello is dead following a shooting incident that occurred early Monday morning in north Lubbock. According to police, Tello was shot while unlawfully inside a residence in the 2500 block of Baylor Street. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. Preliminary information suggests that an individual inside the home encountered Tello before discharging a firearm. However, details regarding the shooter and the exact events leading up to the confrontation remain unclear as the investigation continues.
