A 26-year-old man from Frederick, Maryland, pleads guilty to federal charges of firearms trafficking and unlawful possession of a machine gun, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. During an investigation that began in March 2024, postal inspectors intercepted a parcel addressed to Bartgis containing a Glock 23 handgun, among other illegal items. A subsequent search of Bartgis’ residence uncovered another Glock and multiple machine gun conversion devices, along with over 400 rounds of ammunition and $21,660 in cash, indicating a robust trafficking operation. With a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison looming, Bartgis is scheduled for sentencing on October 6.
