The Roanoke Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in an armed bank robbery that took place on Wednesday morning at approximately 10:11 a.m. A male suspect, described as around 5 feet 7 inches tall and wearing a gray hoodie, blue face mask, and blue jeans, reportedly entered the bank located in the 100 block of McClanahan St SW with a handgun, demanding cash from employees. No injuries have been reported following the incident.
In response to the robbery, Truist Bank has closed its doors temporarily, displaying a notice to customers amid ongoing police investigations. Authorities have released images of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to come forward as they track down the individual who fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
