Pleasanton police arrest 29-year-old Lucas Chan for allegedly fatally shooting a man Friday night, with the incident occurring around 9:40 p.m. in the 4600 block of Helpert Court. Despite immediate medical assistance, the victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital shortly after the shooting, prompting an investigation that led to the discovery of suspicious devices at Chan’s home, believed to be improvised explosive devices.
Chan faces serious charges, including homicide and possession of explosive materials, and is currently held at Santa Rita Jail with an arraignment scheduled for the coming Wednesday. Authorities have indicated there is no ongoing threat to the community, but they are continuing their investigation and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pleasanton Police.
