Lincoln police are actively investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place on July 28 at an apartment near 24th and R streets. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., when two males reportedly entered the victim’s bedroom through a balcony door, one wielding a rifle and the other wearing sunglasses. Although the suspects attempted to steal the victim’s phone and wallet, they fled empty-handed after one of the intruders struck the victim before escaping through the balcony.
Security footage has revealed at least five individuals who may be connected to the incident, prompting police to seek public assistance in identifying the suspects. In addition to the robbery, authorities are also looking into a separate theft of two expensive electric bicycles valued at a combined $5,000 that occurred just days earlier. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Lincoln police or Crime Stoppers for further investigation.
