The Asheville Police Department has arrested four individuals following a successful drug bust on August 27, which resulted in the seizure of a fentanyl press, firearms, and over $7,600 in cash. This operation stemmed from an investigation initiated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia, leading to a search warrant executed at a residence on Ascension Drive in west Asheville.
During the raid, officers discovered a significant amount of fentanyl and marijuana, alongside four handguns, one of which was reported stolen. Among the detained were Deonte Sincere Gardner, who faces multiple charges including felony trafficking of opium, and Rasheed Jahaad Grant, who was charged with possession of a stolen firearm. The investigation remains active, with authorities indicating that further charges may follow as they continue to explore the broader implications of this case.
