China is set to unveil its advanced DF-26D missile, nicknamed the “Guam Killer,” during a significant Victory Day parade on September 3 at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. This showcase, commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War against Japanese aggression, also features prominent world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, marking a display of military might and geopolitical alliance.
The DF-26D missile is regarded for its capability to strike the US military territory of Guam, raising concerns for US officials. The parade will present more than 100 types of advanced military hardware including hypersonic systems, and represents one of China’s largest military demonstrations in recent years, signaling its growing military prowess.
