According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, violent crime against realtors is significantly higher than in many other sectors, prompting the Park City Board of Realtors to introduce a voluntary gun safety course after receiving requests from its members.
With 41% of realtors indicating fear for their safety during home showings, the board has organized two training sessions aimed at empowering agents with essential firearm knowledge and skills. While some realtors express enthusiasm about these training opportunities, others raise concerns about the implications of firearm use in their profession, highlighting a divide in the community over the most effective safety measures.
