Aaron Michael Sutton, a 38-year-old Muncie resident, faces serious charges, including armed robbery and aggravated battery, after allegedly shooting a man during a robbery attempt on September 1. The shooting occurred in a garage on East 18th Street, where the victim sustained severe injuries and required surgery at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
According to police, the altercation started when Sutton allegedly approached the victim with a firearm. Eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage suggest that Sutton was on a motorcycle near the scene shortly before and after the incident. Sutton, who has a lengthy criminal history including multiple theft convictions, was taken into custody without bond and continues to deny any involvement in the shooting.
