Hampton police are seeking public assistance in their investigation of the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Anthony Clark, who was found dead early Friday following a violent confrontation connected to an attempted robbery. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. when a delivery driver returned to his vehicle and was approached by an armed suspect, leading to a shootout between the two individuals.
As officers launched a K-9 search for the suspect, they discovered Clark’s body with multiple gunshot wounds in a suspicious vehicle on Sargeant Street. While the delivery driver was unharmed and is cooperating with the investigation, detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are working to determine the connection between the robbery attempt and Clark’s death. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the police or submit an anonymous tip.
