A 26-year-old man is hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the chest during an altercation with a group of people in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported that the incident occurred early Thursday morning when the man, who was waving a firearm, confronted others in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspect injured and provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics took over. He is currently in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center, facing potential felony harassment charges once he recovers. The SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is investigating the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward.
