Makita is recalling more than 60,000 of its cordless grease guns and hoses due to serious safety concerns, as reported by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The issue arises from the potential for the flexible grease gun hose to develop a hole during use, which can cause grease to spray uncontrollably, creating a risk of cuts for users.
While five injuries have been documented worldwide, none have occurred in the United States. The recalled tools were sold at hardware stores nationwide and online between June 2020 and January 2025. Customers are advised to stop using the affected grease guns and to contact Makita for a free replacement, ensuring safety and preventing further incidents.
