A 34-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds during a robbery on Chicago’s Far South Side early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when two armed males confronted the victim in the 1100 block of South Ashland Avenue, demanding his belongings. Instead of complying, he attempted to walk away, prompting one of the assailants to open fire, striking him in the hip and thigh.
Despite the violent encounter, the victim is reported to be in good condition at the hospital. Police have launched an investigation into the robbery, yet no arrests have been made as they seek information from the public to aid in their case.
