Four Convicted in NY Gun Cases; One Faces Life Sentence

Four individuals have been convicted in Orange County, New York, in connection with separate illegal firearms cases, highlighted by the conviction of a persistent violent felon with seven previous felony convictions. James Price, 63, faces a potential life sentence after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, following the discovery of a loaded AK-47 style rifle during a narcotics investigation in Newburgh.

Alongside Price, three others were found guilty, including Thomas McLaughlin, who possessed a loaded ghost gun during a traffic stop, and Savion Knight, caught with a loaded handgun while attempting to swallow cocaine. The cases, announced by Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler, reflect ongoing efforts to combat gun crime in the area, with significant sentences recommended for all involved.
