Prolific Arms Security Company is bridging the gap in firearms education for Milwaukee’s Black community by offering accessible concealed carry courses. Co-owners Eddie Silas and Theron Rogers recently held a course at Clara Mohammed School, where local residents, primarily Black women, gathered to learn about secure firearm storage and legal responsibilities, highlighting the urgency of firearm safety education in areas heavily impacted by gun violence.
Rogers emphasizes the need for community-led education, pointing out that misconceptions about firearms often stem from entertainment media rather than informed instruction. With statistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health indicating that gun violence disproportionately affects Black individuals, Prolific Arms aims to empower local residents through knowledge and training, ultimately striving to prevent gun-related injuries and fatalities in Milwaukee.
