A Gresham man, 33-year-old Cameron Styles, is accused of firing a shot while fleeing from officers on Sunday evening amidst an assault investigation. Police responded to a call about the assault at a Southeast Oak Street residence and discovered an elderly victim with visible injuries, prompting a swift response from law enforcement, including deputies from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
As officers surrounded the home, Styles emerged with a rifle, aimed it at police, and fled into the neighborhood, firing a shot during his escape. Utilizing a drone to locate the suspect, police eventually apprehended him using less lethal force, resulting in multiple charges, including menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. With a history of criminal behavior, Styles was taken into custody and booked into the Multnomah County jail.
