A 13-year-old boy in Washington state is arrested after authorities discover he had access to at least 23 firearms and had been idolizing school shooters on social media. Following a tip-off from a consultant with the National Sheriffs’ Association, police found multiple posts in which the teen revealed his desire to harm others, including one where he expressed intentions of killing people upon turning 21. Investigators believe his online presence indicated a potential risk, and they were able to intervene before a tragedy could occur.
Authorities reported that the arsenal included high-powered rifles, and several guns were strategically mounted in his home. Notably, police retrieved a magazine with references to the Columbine shooting and ammunition hidden in a “go-bag” in the boy’s room. The teen faces charges, including unlawful possession of firearms and threats of violence, as he awaits further court proceedings, raising critical questions about parental responsibility and the safe storage of weapons.
