Cal State Bakersfield assistant basketball coach Kevin Mays, 32, has been arrested on charges related to pimping and pandering after authorities uncovered ghost guns and significant quantities of drugs at his residence and in his vehicle. Following a report from a confidential informant, investigators learned that Mays was allegedly exploiting a woman for commercial sex work, which led to a search that revealed over $4,400 in cash, suspected methamphetamine, and unregistered firearms.
During the investigation, police discovered three ghost guns, which are untraceable, along with various illegal magazines and a substantial amount of meth and marijuana at Mays’ home. The allegations against him include six felonies and five misdemeanors, with Mays maintaining a not guilty plea and currently being held on a $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court next week, raising questions about the implications of his arrest for his role in the university’s athletic program.
