A 19-year-old Tell City resident, Jacob Maxey, is sentenced to nine years after admitting guilt in an attempted armed robbery case at a Rockport apartment complex. The incident escalated when Maxey reportedly pointed a gun at his victim during a planned firearm exchange, with surveillance footage capturing the harrowing moment.
Authorities revealed that Maxey fired several shots as he fled the scene, and he later confessed to the crime when confronted with strong evidence, including the use of a stolen firearm. Spencer Circuit Court Judge Jon Dartt emphasized the seriousness of the crime, stating that such brazen acts of gun violence in populated areas must be addressed decisively to ensure community safety.
