National Hunting and Fishing Day will take place on September 27th at the Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge, along with three additional sites across Louisiana. Celebrated every fourth Saturday in September for over 40 years, this year’s events will run from 8 AM to 2 PM and feature hands-on activities such as shooting ranges, fishing ponds, and boating exhibitions.
Attendees can engage in live demonstrations to learn more about wildlife, making this an educational experience for all. The inaugural celebration in 1982 has grown significantly, attracting more than 10,000 participants statewide. This year’s gatherings will also highlight local conservation organizations, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with the broader outdoor community.
