IDNR Opens Sites for 2025 Youth Waterfowl Hunting

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) announces a variety of state parks and wildlife areas will welcome youth waterfowl hunters in 2025. These locations include popular sites such as Chain O’ Lakes State Park and Banner Marsh State Fish and Wildlife Area, with hunts scheduled for specific dates in October and November.

Youth hunters aged 10 to 17 will have the chance to participate in special hunts across several zones, while adhering to regulations that mirror those of the regular season. With a focus on cultivating the next generation of hunters, the IDNR emphasizes the importance of proper licensing, including a federal duck stamp for those aged 16 and older, making this an exciting opportunity for young outdoor enthusiasts.
