Two Linden men, 19-year-old Jevan Carrie and 18-year-old Jeyrin Munoz, are arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred outside a Wendy’s on South Wood Avenue on September 5. The incident resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to a 35-year-old woman, who was treated at the scene and taken to Newark University Hospital following the gunfire.
During a two-week investigation, detectives identified the suspects and confirmed they fired multiple shots at a parked vehicle. Both men now face serious charges, including aggravated assault and weapon possession, with Munoz also charged for pointing a firearm unlawfully. This case highlights the police chief’s commitment to addressing gun violence in the community, underscoring a proactive approach toward public safety.
