A Laredo man, Antonio Silva Manzano, is now facing a federal firearm charge after police responded to a domestic assault report on October 15. Officers noted the emotional distress of the female complainant, who showed signs of having been assaulted, and revealed that Manzano frequently carries a firearm, raising safety concerns due to past incidents of violence.
During the investigation, officers discovered a 9mm handgun at the suspect’s residence, leading to an inquiry by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was soon revealed that Manzano is in the country illegally, further complicating his legal situation as he was served with a federal warrant for possessing a firearm under such conditions.
