The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Border Mounted Patrol Unit recently captured Adan Delgado-Ortega, a 52-year-old Mexican national with a lengthy criminal history, while he was hiding in the thick brush of a private ranch in Kinney County. This arrest took place on Sunday as part of “Operation Lone Star,” and video footage shows troopers and a K-9 unit tracking him down after a surveillance camera alerted them to his presence.
Delgado-Ortega, who has multiple deportations dating back to 1998 and previous convictions for assault, family violence, and drug possession, was turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection following his arrest. Authorities are investigating how and when he reentered the country illegally, leaving questions surrounding border security and enforcement in the spotlight.
