A couple from Florida, Bradley Leon Guerrero Santos and Roseanella Mendola Borja, faces serious charges after allegedly abandoning their 16-year-old son on the side of Interstate 75 with a bag containing two handguns and cash. Police found the teen wandering alone after he reported that the couple had abruptly pulled over and ordered him to take care of the house while they drove away, claiming they were going on a trip to either Guam or Idaho.
Upon responding to the scene, officers discovered the family home was left in disarray, with firearms allegedly left out in the open. The couple, now charged with neglect of a child without great bodily harm and, in Santos’s case, allowing a minor access to firearms, were later located and detained by local police. Both remain in jail on a $500,000 bond each as authorities investigate the troubling circumstances surrounding their abandonment of the child.
